At ReProduct, our goal is to eliminate waste. So we ReProduct and help others do the same.
To ReProduct (V): To design products so that their materials can be profitably harnessed again and again in the creation of new products.
For example, our Zero Waste Greeting Cards are ReProducted into carpet backing. The carpet backing can then be ReProducted into carpet backing again and again and again.......
Why ReProduct?
There are a finite number of material resources on the planet. Since the world population is growing and consuming more and more resources, we are headed to the point where we just won't have certain resources available. In order to continue to enrich people's lives and eliminate waste, we must use the resources we have been given in an intelligent manner.
(Re) Design to eliminate waste by considering:
Market - Envision Product #1 (example: Greeting Cards) in its first incarnation so that it might be ReProducted into Product #2 (example: carpet backing)
Design - How do the materials used influence design and vice versa?
Materials - What is Product #1 made of? What alternative materials could it be made of? What could it be made into?
Environmental factors - LifeCycle Analysis and environmental footprint should be better than the incumbent method
Business factors - is there an underlying business case (market and financial) for ReProducted product? What business partnerships need to be put in place in order for the entire ReProducting process to work?
